A Guide To Choosing Hotels

By Adriana Noton

Whenever traveling is being done whether it is for a day or longer, accommodation has to be arranged. That means choosing among the many hotels there are. A number of factors will determine the hotel one chooses to stay in.

If the trip is being taken to meet official obligations like meetings or training workshops, the hotel will often be chosen in consideration to how close it is to the venue of the functions. It is totally different if the trip is for a vacation or get away. Then, there is room to explore any and every option for hotel accommodation with the aim of finding one that offers the best or most assorted mix of recreational amenities. There is even the option of staying at more than one hotel.

One fancy option is fashion designer hotels. There are several and they have become all the rage wherever they have been set up. World renowned fashion designers are now putting their stamp on structural design as well. You can now not only wear or carry a designer label but also sleep and eat in it, experiencing the same level of luxury and exclusivity. Some are branching out in various popular tourist destinations while all-new ones are coming up as other fashion designers step up to the challenge of leaving their mark in hotels as well as clothes and accessories.

Related to these are luxury hotels. They too offer guests the royal treatment. Most of them have spas and they go the extra mile in the way things are done. For instance, there are couples massages done under silver moonlight. Health enthusiasts can work out in high-tech gyms with a personal trainer. There are also swimming and plunge pools and private balconies and private blooming gardens. There are also personal chefs to whip any anything that your palate desires.

These also make fabulous locations for special events like a wedding, a honeymoon, important anniversary and other important events. If the location is along a beach, the blue-green ocean, bright blue sky and white beaches make a gorgeous setting.

For a lone traveler or a couple, or a couple and a young child, a single, double room or single room with connecting door will suffice. For a group of family and friends or colleagues traveling together, a suite would be a better choice than different rooms. They are also those that offer the self catering option with fully fitted kitchens. This is a better option especially where there are younger children or people with special needs.

Another way to bring down the cost of hotel stays even further is to get membership in a vacation club. These are offered to reward their customers for their patronage and to gain their loyalty. The points are awarded based on what is spent at the hotel at its various chains as well as points that members can buy as real estate shares. The points can them be redeemed when paying for hotel stays. Some also offer reduced entrance fees to recreation spots like parks and movies.

Whether travel is for business or leisure, hotel stays should be comfortable at the least and if you choose well, enjoyable and memorable.
