A Brief Insight Into The Italian Riviera

By Fabio DeMartino

The country of Italy is very popular for its valuable heritage of varied cultures, that the aesthetic aspect of its natural environment rarely finds any significance. Tourism journals and travel magazines provide a brilliant picture of its elaborate traditions and rich culture, without any emphasis on its natural charm.

It is normal to hear about Italy's cars and cuisine that are much spoke of everywhere. Without them, Italy still has lots to provide for its visitors through its fantastic weather and panoramic beauty which will bring astonishment to any visitor. It doesn't cost anything to lavishly enjoy the beauty offered to us by nature. With that experience one can surely say that 'the best things in life are free'!

The Italian Riviera is one such place in Italy that is well-known for its great landscape. The region of Italian Riviera can be described as a thin coastal landmass lying between the Ligurian Sea and the vast mountainous chain that join the Maritime Alps and the Appenines. It runs along the border of French Riviera reaching almost to Tuscany.

Several years ago, a bigger part of the French province which exists today was within the boundary of the Italian Riviera. Even today, the Italian Riviera occupies the whole coast of Liguria. It is situated in the center of the Genoa Port and from there separates to two portions. The portion between Genoa and Capo Corva forms the Riviera di Levante. The portion reaching the French border from the west part of Genoa forms the Riviera di Ponente.

So what really does the Italian Riviera have to offer its guests? Well, first of all, the coastal region is much loved for its mild climate that serves as the perfect place to kick back and relax. The coastal region also makes for great views over the water ways.

Tourists are persuaded to take a chance at the old school fishing areas and do some exploration along with their entertainment. It forms a memory to be cherished. We ought to understand that the Italian Riviera was previously tourist hit even during the time of the famous Byron and Shelley, and is therefore not a newly discovered one.

There are some areas along the region that have acquired international recognition. The most prominent of these are Bordighera, Lerici, Porofino and the well-known Cinque Terre. The Riviera of Palms is the region centered on Savona and is another place of exquisite natural beauty.

And of course the Riviera dei Fiori is renowned for having some of the sweetest smelling flowers in the country as it is home to the flower growing industry.

The hospitality and tourism industry of the Italian Riviera are well-developed to meet the standard of its visitors from all over the world. Numerous resorts, hotels and restaurants are found in and around the Italian Riviera. You will find beach resorts and holiday resorts too. Italian Riviera is particularly well-grown to manage the seasonal tourists who bring a big rush to the place.
