There are so many radio station advertisements out there that it can become hard to pick a radio station to listen to, let alone distinguish between the ads, but the KISS FM ‘It’s Better When You Hear It’ print ads are certainly one of the more memorable ones I have ever encountered.
The Chicago-based radio station tapped into the root of a song, the lyrics, in order to capture the attention of audiences. With lyrics from Rihanna, Kesha, Usher, and Lady Gaga songs, the ads portray what seems like complete nonsense at first.
The KISS FM It’s Better When You Hear It ads include the following lyrics: “Under my umbrella, ella, ella”, “Roma, Roma, Ma. Gaga, Ooh La La,” This Place About to Blo-Ohh Oh, O O O Oh,” and “O-O-O-O, O-O-O-O-O, O-O-O-O-O-Oh-Ohh, Oh My Gosh.”
These silly ads certainly do get their point across: the lyrics behind pop songs these days are absolute nonsense, but “it’s better when you hear it.”
