Nightlife in Santorini

By Robert Rolston

Greece is a country with lots of different popular tourist destinations but few come close to the island of Santorini. Santorini is a beautiful island with an abundance of beaches all around its perimeter and like the rest of Greece it has a beautiful hot climate for nearly the whole of the year. Like many other parts of Greece Santorini is also known for its fantastic night life and many people are now travelling to the island for a clubbing holiday.

The summer is of course the peak season and this is the most popular time for people to visit Santorini and experience its nightlife. During this period the islands temperatures are at the peak and the islands bars and clubs have an amazing atmosphere because there are so many like-minded people there too. People visiting in the summer are guaranteed to have a great time at night and have the best chance of getting a golden tan because of the peak temperatures.

The best place to go in Santorini for nightlife is without a doubt Fira. Fira is a very popular resort with lots of bars and clubs which stay open for most of the day and night. Bars open very early in Fira with some even before midday and they then stay open non-stop until the following morning. If when the bars are closing at around three or four in the morning, people still aren't content then the clubs in Fira are open til around 7am!

Drinks in Fira are pretty cheap like most other resorts in Europe because bars and clubs have to compete against each other to get people inside. During the peak season, most places also have offers and enticers on such as free shots when people go into their bar or club. People in Fira are also spoilt for choice with clubs like Koo club, Tithora, Enigma and many more.

It isn't just Fira in Santorini where there are plenty of bars and clubs though as most other resorts share a similar atmosphere. Firostefani, Thira and many more of Santorini's resorts have places for people to party long into the following morning before heading to a relaxing beach.
