There are many specific places of interest for the holiday tourist in Poland. History buffs can explore the grounds of the old Auschwitz Concentration Camp, or the Wawel Castle in Krakow. The Gothic Wawel Castle is known for it's fire breathing dragon sculpture on the banks of the Vistula River, along with having a 16th century Renaissance inner courtyard as well as displays of valuable works of art. This country is also ideal for those tourists who love shopping. In Krakow there is the Sukiennice. There is an art gallery, a few cafes, and several shops and stalls in this mall. Tourists can buy mementos in the ground floor of this mall. There are wooden artifacts that are distinctively made by locals. Other items worth a look are leather ware, and jewelry.
The Lazienki Park and Chopin's Monument in Warsaw are wonderful attractions too. The park is full of several wide trails for walking. Those who like hiking and walking would not know how they spent their time here, because there is so much to be seen in park. There are waterways, ponds, and lakes, apart from statues.
This is just a basic idea of what this country has to offer. Besides history, entertainment and sports, there is also a lot of beautiful scenery such as mountains and beaches.
