A Brief Product Review Of The Fuji Instax Instant Cameras

By Terri Carr

If you wish to easily upload photos you have taken yourself on the internet, a digital camera is suited for you. But if you wish to dabble on film photography, Fuji Instax cameras allow you to have more or less the same experience, but in a more instant way. Fujifilm is one of the companies which like to keep the art of instant photography alive.

There are still a few industries nowadays which find instant cameras indispensable, like modeling or casting agencies. Also, there are individuals who simply want to have printouts of photos right after. Good thing there's the Mini 50S, Mini 7 and Mini 210 - all these are the available instant cameras from Fujifilm.

Sporting a sleek and piano-black casing, the 50S is ideal for people who wish to have an elegant-looking device with them. It's worthy of being whipped out in a formal party or occasions where showing some elegance matters. Because the shutter speed adjusts automatically, it's possible to come up with clear and vivid photos even in low-light scenes. Be the photographer and the subject as well by using the built-in timer.

The Mini 7, on the other hand, comes in two colors - pink and blue - although a huge chunk of the body remains in white. Since it looks more casual, it's ideal for just about any occasion where you need to capture some precious instances in photos. The moment you press the shutter, out comes the print pretty much the size of a credit card, instantly letting you enjoy your snapshots.

The 50S has a compact body which measures 96.5 x 112.0 x 49.5 mm (width x height x depth). The Mini 7 is slightly larger than this, with a body measuring 119.5 x 121.5 x 70.5 mm. It weighs 320 g (without the batteries and film), heavier than the 50S which measures 275 g only. Both these models use instant film which measures 54.0 x 86.0 mm (width x height) though the actual picture size is only 46.0 x 62 mm. Each cartridge yields 10 prints.

Of all available instant camera models, the largest is the 210. It tips the scale at 650 g without the film cartridge and batteries, and has a body which measures 178.5 x 94.5 x 117.5 mm. Making for an easy and comfortable grip is its rounded body design. Because it sports a large optical viewfinder, high-resolution lens which retracts when not in use, and automatically adjusting flash, this model is quite a performer.

This Fuji Instax instant camera employs a larger size film cartridge containing a total of 10 prints, where each print measures 108.0 x 86.0 mm. However, the actual picture size measures only 99.0 x 62.0 mm.
