Ajay Devgan, winner of the National awards for two time is one of the finest actors of Hindi film industry. Born as Vishal Devgan, Ajay entered the world of films with Phool Aur Kaante, as an action hero, unlike his fellow actors. His fame as an action hero grew many folds with some movies and they became mega hits. Gradually he started committing other movie offers as well. It was then he accepted the offer to act in Ishq, in a comedy role, opposite to Kajol. In addition to Ishq, the Ajay-Kajol pair can be seen in Pyar To Hona Hi Tha, one of the biggest hits of the year 1998.
National Acclaim for the First Time.
In 1998, through Zakhm, he received the Best Actor Award in National Film Awards. He was seen in a serious role in this Mahesh Bhatt film. Sonali Bendre, Nagarjuna and Pooja Bhatt were his co-actors in this film, made in the background of 1992 riots. Following this achievement, Ajay Devgan worked with several noted filmmakers of Hindi film industry such as Sanjay Leela Bhansali in his in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Mani Ratnam in Yuva and Ram Gopal Varma in Company and Bhoot, in the coming years.

He accepted the role in Rajkumar Santhoshi's biographical film The Legend Of Bhagat Singh and enacted the character of Bhagat Singh in 2002. For the brilliant performance in this movie, he bagged the National Award for the second time and the Filmfare Critics Award too.
Within a period of twenty years, Ajay has acted in over 100 films. Khakee and Kaal are two of the movies in which he has portrayed negative characters, for which he was nominated in the Best Villain Award category. His acting was also praised in several movies ��" Raincoat, Golmaal and Yuva being a few of them. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was his co-actor in the art film Raincoat. Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge, Gangaajal, Zameen, Omkara, Rajneeti and Once Upon A Time In Mumbai are some of his popular movies.
In the year 2000, he committed only 2 films - Deewane and Raju Chacha, of which the second one saw him as a producer. Even though Raju Chacha was a flop commercially, the pair of Ajay and Kajol was once more seen on screen. His search for new challenges in Hindi film industry made him direct the movie U, Me Aur Hum in 2008. He was the main actor and producer of the movie. His 3rd production venture was All The Best: The Fun Begins in 2009. Ajay Devgan can be seen in action in the upcoming movies Singham, Power and Tezz.
