Summer Vacation Fashion - A Few Essential Tips For Women

By Mark Walters

It's summer again and the time for a vacation is here again. For those of you going away to the beach this year, here are a few style tips. A guaranteed winner is the sarong, which is available in a range of styles - from long to short and from sheer to loose linen. They fold up small too, which is important when you have limited packing space. As well as being stylish, they are also ideal for covering up whilst on the beach. Without a doubt, they are an essential item for any woman's summer wardrobe.

Hats might not exactly be the most thrilling apparel inside your baggage, however, they're certainly essential. Especially so if your skin burns quickly. A large brimmed hat is perfect for keeping the sun off your head and shoulders. Choose a light, breathable material for optimum practicality. Opt for an array of colors and designs to make a real statement, both on the beach and out and about sightseeing.

Some summer dresses are, of course, essential! For a week away, you will probably need to take at least three or four in your luggage. Make good purchasing decisions though and the dresses that you bought for wearing in the daytime will also be suitable for wearing for dinner and drinks in the evening. Floral patterned dresses are in fashion at the moment. Light blues and yellows look great too. Either way, look for dresses made from linen and cotton, as they are the most comfortable materials to wear in the heat.

As for footwear, you're realistically going to be limited to taking just a few pairs with you, as they take up a lot of space. You'll need a pair of sandals or flip flops in a neutral color - white works best. A pair of comfortable sneakers is worth taking as walking around in sandals or flip flops can hurt your feet for anything more than short distances. And, you'll need a pair of smarter shoes for the evenings.

Finally, it would be crazy not to go on a beach vacation without swimwear and sunglasses. Bikinis are the obvious choice for swimwear, but don't feel pressured into wearing one if you're won't feel comfortable in one. There are lots of great on piece swimsuits to choose from too. There is no need to spend a fortune on sunglasses. You can get a perfectly good pair for $20 if you want to. If they're black and slightly oversized then you'll look great in them.
