Just How To Accelerate Your Computer

By Icabod Lucas Xavier

If you've had your computer for more than a year or so, then perhaps it's been getting slower and slower. Maybe web pages take longer to load, or you have trouble watching videos on YouTube. The truth is, there are some simple things that you can do that will quickly speed up your computer. Some of these are free, and some of them cost money, but they all work like a charm.

Spyware and adware are two of the biggest culprits when it comes to slow computer speed. This are different from computer viruses. Viruses intend to do harm, while spyware and adware simply want to sell you things. Nevertheless, they can slow down your computer quite a bit. If you let them go unchecked very long, pretty soon you won't be able to use your computer at all.

The easiest way to get rid of these programs is with some kind of spyware removal program. There are plenty of them available. Some are free, but the majority of you have to buy. They are only twenty or thirty bucks, and they do a good job of removing all those programs that are slowing your computer down.

Another thing that slows your computer down is your computer registry. Every time you install software, it updates the registry. If you delete programs rather than uninstall them, it doesn't change the registry. This makes your computer slow because it's always looking for things that aren't there.

Cleaning up your registry is easy enough. All you need to do is get a registry cleaning program. Again, some of these are free, but most of them you need to pay for. Many programs come with both anti spyware and registry cleaners in them, so you can get both in one purchase.

Another way to speed up your machine is to remove unnecessary programs that launch whenever you turn your computer on. They will still be there, they just won't start unless you click on them. This can save quite a bit of time at startup.

Speeding up your computer with these tips is easy. You can take care of them in one afternoon, and before you know it, your computer will be as fast as ever.
