Information about Hawaiian Luau

By Jane Claire

Without attending a luau your Hawaiian vacation can never be end. Luau means a party or a celebration. This occurs only after the birth of any child or in any wedding. Now it becomes a household name in all over USA. By name of luau we think some cheap plastic lays or plastic tiki cups. But it's too different from that thinking.

However, in Hawaii the luau party is observed both as a closely resembles that of the original type of luau and as a public commercial luau. Though, in Hawaii, there are many different types of luaus but they are basically all the same. It starts from arriving guests who are generally greeted with a fresh flower leu. An entertainment dancing is choreographed at top notch, complete with hula dancers and fire eaters. Sometimes the guests provide some of the entertainment themselves. Moreover, grown men wearing hula skirts and trying to dancing is a funny part of this party. After that, Different food and drink are served according to visitors test and choice. The food is usually a buffet, consisting of a roasted pig or perhaps some sort of roast beef, rice, and the Hawaiian staple pineapple.

I have to mention some of the best known luaus and those with the best reputation. While in Maui, the Old Lahaina Luau is the one not to be missed. This is the most authentic Luau on the island. The hula dancers are superb and the food is of the highest quality. The other luaus available in Maui are usually done at the resorts and lack the realism of Old Lahaina. Because of it's popularity, the Old Lahaina Luau does require reservations. In fact, I would recommend that you make your reservations before you even leave for Hawaii.

There are surpluses of options to choose from when someone visits the big island. Kona town is very popular for the luau. King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel greets with a shell lei greeting and a torch lighting ceremony. On the next morning the hotel staffs bury the pig in the sand and begin roasting in front of the quests.

Kaui Island is also offers some luaus by its own arrangement. The Radisson Kauai Beach Resort and the Kilohana Plantation have some nice luaus where they arrange some hula dance. They also have open bars, fire eaters and the hula dancers.

Whatever island or islands you decide to visit in Hawaii Island you must enjoy a Hawaiian luau or your visit stays incomplete. Whatever is your main interest the hula dancers or the food a luau is always gives the guarantee of awesome pleasure.
