The Aquarium is just across the road from the Eye, and you could also catch a train for lunch in Paris from nearby Waterloo Station and be back in time for a nightcap at your hotel.

Entrance to most of the capital's museums is free. The Natural History Museum has some fascinating displays, such as dinosaur remains. The kids will love the interactive displays.

If you are fascinated by science and technology, then you will love the Science Museum. This is just across the road from the Natural History one. You can see scientific and medical equipment used in centuries gone by.

You may have heard of Madame Tussauds famous wax figures of celebrities and famous people from history. The Planetarium, next door to the wax museum is also great to experience and you can buy a combined ticket. Both these attractions are situated in Baker Street, made famous by Sherlock Holmes.

If you like visiting historical palaces, then you will be spoilt for choice in this important European capital. The government of the country now sits in Westminster Palace. Westminster Abbey is very close.

Tower Bridge is one of the capital's major landmarks. The Tower itself was once used as a prison, and held the likes of Anne Boleyn and Mary Queen of Scots, both of whom were executed here. If you like royal history, you will also like to see Windsor Castle, which is another of the Queen's residences. It is situated on the outskirts of the capital, in the picturesque village of Windsor.

A cheap hotel London can offer excellent value for money. This can allow you a bigger budget for all the capital has to offer. You need not sacrifice on comfort to have a wonderful stay
