And if you don't want to spend a fortune for 7.1 surround sound, this might be an excellent option. The only downside is they can get a little warm (would not exercise with them on, for instance). They have very reasonable range and auto-volume adjusts. NO extraneous noise.
The wireless range extends through multiple walls (YMMV). I've had these about a week and I think they're great. The sound is excellent. The controllers are much better indexed than those on the 140.
I'm not a big fan of the button system though. For one, you shouldn't have to press two buttons to turn it on. I've got these headphones around Jan 5, 2011. These are my first pair of over the ear headphones (I've used IEMS and ear buds before) and first wireless headphones.
I am so glad I spent the money for these headphones. I have been researching various models and brands and I decided to go with these due to the reviews here on Amazon. The product is fine, except for the select bottoms. They are hard to find, because they are even with the earpiece and one has to search for the right one. Wow, I have been waiting literally years for a quality set of wireless headphones. I listened to many including the previous generation of Sennheiser's. We use Sennheiser products (mics) in our Rock Band and the performance is consistent and high-end quality. I would recommend this product to others. You can't go wrong with Sennheiser! We replaced a cheaper item with the Sennheiser RS 180 Digital Wireless Headphone System. They are on the expensive side, but I'm pleased with them. I'd recommend them for anyone looking for wireless headphones in this price range. However, the headphones and base don't seem to be constructed with particularly high-quality materials. The plastic feels light and thin -- which could be a positive, but makes me, wonder whether they could break easily. I don't know why this Sennheiser rep, whose name I won't reveal but who sounded like he was in the know, or should have been, couldn't simply be honest with me. While he did achieve his objective of getting me to try the 180's, he is also now responsible for a returned set of 180's and this negative review.
The sound is excellent and they are comfortable even after hours of use. I've had no problems with range in our house -- work well in all rooms.
