Things to Consider When Preparing for a Spring Wedding

By Ruth Williams

As with any major event, planning for a certain time of the year necessitates attention to certain details. This is exactly true with a wedding in the spring where special conditions should be considered. It is wonderful to have a spring wedding. Winter cold has shifted away, fresh growths of foliage have come in, and the sun shines longer and brighter. This creates an ideal backdrop for a wedding. Any women should feel empowered to have her dream wedding. As is true with all types of special events, brides should always be mindful of the particular season in which her wedding is scheduled to occur.

Outdoor venues have spruced up their appearances after the long winter months, so many venues that offer outside courtyards and gardens are an option. Don't forget that it rains often in the spring. It is wise for brides to seek wedding venues with overhangs or roomy courtyards which may be covered.

Because the days are longer, it is possible for photographers to utilize beautiful natural light when taking pictures of the wedding party. Since most wedding parties want to utilize this natural lighting, it may be difficult to find a photographer free during the spring. This doesn't mean a bride cannot arrange for her wedding in spring months; just that she should be ready to plan accordingly to work with tight schedules. Good news for your guests, though. Spring time offers numerous long weekends that make it easier for your guest to attend - including Easter, spring break, and bank holidays.

If planning centrepieces, and the essential bouquets to accompany the bridal party, a bride-to-be should be conscientious of the flowers in bloom. For example, a spring bride planning an April or May wedding should not expect fresh poinsettias to be a viable decoration option. When planning a spring ceremony, brides should look into several spring variations such as peonies, sweet peas, daisies, daffodils, tulips, cherry blossom and freesias.

Menu items also follow the same guidelines as flowers. Various types of food items are more easily accessible and cost far less when currently seasonal. These include asparagus, new potatoes, broccoli, salmon, cod, and lamb for spring months.

A wedding can be so important to a woman, so she must be aware of the key aspects of the event. These basic considerations will make overall planning easier and less stressful. Whether it is being aware of the flowers in season or locations available, the bride can have a more positive experience planning the greatest time in her life if she realizes everything that makes a successful springtime wedding.
