By Jean Pierre Prieur

There is a magical aura found in California; I have felt it every time I have been there. There is a mystic that surrounds the whole state, and for those who have never been there, it is a dream come true. A journey to California is an adventure that will stay with you for the rest of your days. Going to California is a treasure in itself, but to be at the side of one you hold dearest is the beginning of a romance that will warm your soul in the time to come. I share with you now some interesting places to visit in California.

San Diego is a special place in the southern part of California, very close to the Mexican border. Spanish influence is evident throughout this ocean-side gem. Stay at the world-renowned Coronado Hotel, nestled on the beautiful expanse of the Pacific seashore. The Coronado is an elegant place to spend time enjoying the sights and sounds of the giant waves rushing ashore. Take a romantic gondola ride on the canals off Coronado Bay while enjoying the stars. Consider driving a short way to Dana Pint where you can take a ferry to wondrous Catalina Island, just 22 miles across the bay, according to the Beach Boys.

If it's a faster pace you seek, Los Angeles must be part of your itinerary. Clubs galore and Wolfgang Puck Restaurants are part of that scene. Stay at the intimate Beverly Hills Hotel in the heart of that city. You may see someone famous at one of their poolside bungalows. It is a beautiful and enchanting boutique hotel, beautifully landscaped and very appealing. While in the area, a shopping adventure to Rodeo Drive for another glimpse of exotic lifestyles is in order. Keep your eyes open. You don't want to miss a single star.

In Santa Barbara, you must - absolutely must - stay at the incredibly romantic Simpson House. Each room of this historical house is a uniquely decorated masterpiece. Your accommodations will be so comfortable that it may take some effort to get you out to explore the exquisitely landscaped grounds and the picturesque town of Santa Barbara. Here you will find very unusual and upscale shops, and memorable restaurants. You might prefer to stretch out and relax on the beach, a short walk from the Simpson House.

Put on your jacket and enjoy some old world romantic culture when coming to San Francisco. Parking the car and using public transportation is one of the best ways to enjoy time together walking on the pier or riding the cable cars. Many people who come to this area truly do leave their hearts here. It is a couple's paradise filled with culture and sightseeing. Staying in the downtown area will offer first class luxury hotels that can't be found in any other part of the state. This is a must see place for couples who want a different type of holiday.

Private cabanas, fantastic courtyards, swimming pools, and luxurious beds are waiting for you and that special person. While touring in a town Hollywood personalities love to visit, there are plenty of neat things to do. A visit to the Palm Springs Art Museum is a fun thing to do. It began as an exhibit of the desert but has evolved into a complete art museum. There, the both of you can enjoy contemporary Indian art, sculptures, paintings, photography, and desert paintings. Be sure to enjoy an authentic Mexican meal at Las Casuelas Nuevas. The Delgado family shares its family recipes, and the margaritas you enjoy with the meal are traditional.

People often say that California is such an experience, they even want to make it their home. Couples enjoy the waves of the sea and shopping locations within towns. Children love the aquariums and unique animals that they're introduced to. Visitors have a memory that will last a lifetime with romantic hotels and scenic coasts.
