The latest apparel to come out of the Twelve Bar FW 2011 collection are two shirts that are simple, stylish and pay respect to some of hip-hop’s finest.

For the Twelve Bar FW 2011 collection, the brand is adding two new shirts into the mix that pays homage to hip-hop. The first one is called the ‘California Love,’ which is the first of 12 of the Crossword Collector series. The shirt shows off a crossword with several hip-hop names such as Kendrick Lamar, Odd Future and The D.O.C. scribbled into the square. Time-Traveling High-Tops - The 2011 Nike MAG Pays Tribute to the Footwear of Back to the Future II (TrendHunter.com)

SuperstarThe 2011 Nike MAG Pays Tribute to the Footwear of Back to the Future II

I can’t decide whether “Back to the Future” fans or sneakerheads are going to be more excited by the release of the 2011 Nike MAG. The MAG is the fictional self-lacing Nike worn by Michael J. Fox’s Marty McFly in ‘Back to the Future II.’

The MAG has finally been made, but unfortunately, it cannot tie itself. What it can do is light up for five hours continuously. All that is needed to light the shoe is a full battery and a pinch of the shoe’s “ear” (the pouch located at the top of the shoe). The 2011 Nike MAG’s design is bound to be debated by sneaker fiends for years to come, but what isn’t debatable is the purpose behind the shoe.

Nike is releasing 1,500 pairs of the 2011 MAG, with each pair going up for auction on eBay. All of the proceeds from the auction, along with a $50-million donation made by Nike, will go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. The auction will last for 10 days starting Sept. 8 with 150 pairs being auctioned each day. Rumor has it that the first few pairs have sold for as high as $75,000.

Sneaker lovers and sports fans are going to flip when they see the new Sak Dr. J Pro Leather. Converse has collaborated with renowned shoe craftsman Ryusaku Hiruma to create a limited-edition run of the Dr. J Pro Leather.

For those who don’t know, Dr. J (Julius Erving) is one of the all-time basketball greats. Dr. J is widely regarded as the man who helped usher the NBA into its current style of play with his epic slam dunks and graceful moves.

The Sak Dr. J Pro Leather is a fitting tribute to the NBA great and is handmade entirely out of leather which gives the shoe a refined look not typically found in a tennis shoe. The shoe will be produced in an ultra-limited run of 24 pairs, with each pair selling for a whopping $600. Nobody said tributes were cheap.
