Vintage Console Computer Mods - SEGA Saturn Laptop Revives an Old Gaming Classic (TrendHunter.com)

RockstarSEGA Saturn Laptop Revives an Old Gaming Classic

One of the latest console mods comes from c_mon who designed the SEGA Saturn Laptop, which should bring back plenty of nostalgia for those who have been gaming since their hands could hold a controller.

The now defunct SEGA Saturn has now been brought back to life in the form of a laptop. So what are some of the changes done to the retro console? Designer cs_mon has added a small 5” Sony PSOne as a flip-up screen, which is definitely something new. There’s also a large wooden case that encompasses the SEGA Saturn Laptop that features Sonic the Hedgehog engraved on either side. The disc is now visibly spinning and there’s even blue fluorescent light on the side. An additional cooling fan has been added inside to prevent the system from overheating.

Political Console Gaming - Tea Party Zombies Must Die Stirs up a Bureaucratic Circus (TrendHunter.com)

ProdigyTea Party Zombies Must Die Stirs up a Bureaucratic Circus

Ever since the days of Newgrounds.com, politically vocal video games have been missing from the industry, but this is about to change with the release of Tea Party Zombies Must Die.

Named for the libertarian political group it parodies, Tea Party Zombies Must Die charges players to confront the impending threat of zombified Tea Party members. Intentionally crass and to-the-point, the shooter includes ghoulish renditions of news figures like Newt Gingrich and Glenn Beck as well as politicians including congresswoman Michelle Bachman and Sarah Palin. Needless to say, it caused a huge uproar among conservatives who viewed the game as violent, irresponsible and potentially dangerous.

Game creator Jason Oda explains that the game was merely a personal project although, judging from the eerily positive audience reaction, it’s likely we’ll see more video gamers masquerading as political pundits.
